INTERNSHIP HIRING PROCESS

  1. Match Students to Internships
Teachers should log onto the CTE Internship Matching Tool to submit their students for internship opportunities starting Wednesday, April 4th. Remember, submitting a student does not guarantee they will be selected for the internship. The CTE Partnership Development team makes the final call.
Internship opportunities ‘fall off the list’ when the slots are filled. Be sure to go to thetool sooner rather than later for the best selection of internships for your students.
Students are notified of an internship offer by email. They must click the link in the email & fill out the form to accept the offer. If a student has not accepted an offer in 5 days, the internship will be assigned to another student.
  2. Assist Students with CPS Hiring Process
Starting in May, students will fill out online application to the internship opportunityposted on the CPS career website. The specific link is emailed to the student’s CPSemail.
After applying online, students receive acceptance email (to the email they put on their application) with instructions to log back into the CPS career website to complete on- boarding tasks.
Students attend hiring session at central office in late May or early June to have work documents checked by CPS Human Resources. Students will be notified via email which session they have been assigned to.
Students attend orientation session in June to learn about internship expectations, resources and support. Information regarding the orientation sessions will be sent after students accept an internship. Internships start June 25, 2018.
